How do I know if my cat is truly happy?
A happy cat shows several signs: they eat well, play regularly, groom normally, relax in an open position (exposed belly or stretched paws), purr in their humans' presence, and use their litter box without difficulty. The absence of problem behaviours is also a good indicator.
My cat sleeps a lot — is that normal?
Yes, cats sleep between 12 and 16 hours a day. What matters is the quality of sleep: a happy cat sleeps in a relaxed position. If your cat sleeps well and plays when awake, everything is fine.
Why does my cat knead soft surfaces?
Kneading is an instinctive behaviour inherited from kittenhood. In adults, it's a sign of wellbeing and contentment. If your cat kneads often, that's very good news.
